Wish Flags

We had the freshmen and new sophomores on Burleigh for a day of orientation activities at the start of school. This is a great program, and we had excellent support this year from advisors and proctors.

Students thought about school culture, their hopes and fears for the year ahead and got to know some other students and teachers.

At the end of the day we had students think about a universal wish or hope they had for the future. They then depicted this wish on a wish flag similar to the prayer flags in the Budhist tradition. I'm going to fly their flags in the dining hall I think, but I thought to give you a preview here of their hopes and wishes. Some are touching, some whimsical, some silly. But all are thoughtful and creative.
