Rope Tow Memories

Sandy and I were hiking around on the mountain last week and we found one of the old lift shacks back again. Maintenance had pushed it over years ago but the engine and fly wheel were still to be found.

It's an old Chevy engine on a Studebaker frame as best as I could make out. You can see the six white spark plugs still sticking out of the engine block on this side of the picture.

The rope was driven by the rear left wheel and ran over the big fly wheel you can see in this picture.

Does anyone remember having ridden on this rope tow? It would have served the left hand slope. Or does anyone remember having operated it?
